The Female Gaze: Alphabetti Theatre

This Event has passed

The Female Gaze will be on stage in NE1 on 14th July 2018 at Alphabetti Theatre in Newcastle.

In 1896 Alice Guy Blache was the first woman to direct a film, and the first person, woman or man, to direct a film with a story. The Female Gaze looks at women in cinema, from then until now. The play includes twelve monologues chosen from an open call; and an original script from Sarah Gonnet.

Karen Traynor will be directing the project, which is a co-production between The Female Gaze magazine and Alphabetti Theatre.

This informal sharing will be an insight into a week of research and development so at the end you will be asked to write down anonymous feedback to support the work's further development. A final script will be developed by Sarah ready for a full-scale production in 2019.
