See in the New Year with a delicious steak dinner at Miller & Carter’s gorgeous restaurant on Mosley Street. Dine from a tempting three-course set menu featuring starters like prawn and smoked salmon cocktail, mains including Black Angus ribeye steak and Scottish sea trout and desserts like passion fruit tart – all of that from just £72.95 per person too!
Blackfriars, Friars Street
Party like it’s 1239 when Blackfriars’ legendary Medieval Banquet returns this New Year’s Eve. Take a seat in its candle-lit Banquet Hall and feast on pottage and pies, roasts, cheese and pudding washed down with flagons of ale and fine wine as minstrels keep you entertained. Medieval costume is welcome, naturally.
Gino D’Acampo Restaurant Quayside, Bridge Court
What could be better this New Year than fine Italian cuisine and stunning views of the Tyne? Riverside restaurant Gino D’Acampo has put together a carefully three-course menu to help you see in the New Year in style and they’re throwing in a glass of champagne and canapes in arrival.
The Maven @ The Vermont Hotel, Castle Garth
Extravagance is guaranteed at The Maven where you can enjoy a tempting three-course New Year’s Eve menu priced at just £49.95 per person. Book up to enjoy dishes like chicken liver parfait, herb crusted salmon and sticky toffee pudding. Tables are available from 7pm.
Dobson & Parnell, Queen Street
Fine dining is afoot this New Year at Dobson & Parnell whose talented chefs have crafted a seven-course tasting menu priced at £85 per head. Fare like beef tartar with beef fat fried bricohe and caper emulsion, chagrilled cod with katsu curry sauce, mussels and sea vegetables and and red wine poached pear praline tart are sure to delight foodies and there’s a vegetarian version too, plus the option to add wine pairings for an additional £50.
Cote Brasserie, Grainger Street
If fine French cuisine gets your taste buds tingling, then Cote is the place to be on New Year’s Eve. Their four-course set menu kicks off with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine followed a couple of sharing dishes, starters like camembert brûlée and beetroot-cured smoked salmon and mains including duck a l’orange and confit pork belly. And to finish? How do the likes of crème caramel and chocolate praline tart sound? Ooh la la!
Banyan, Monument Mall
Looking for something a little wilder? Look no further than Banyan’s NYE Bottomless Party! For just £46.95 per person, you’ll get a hearty main dish – including the likes of bang bang chicken rice or turkey and smoked ham hock Christmas pie – plus as much fizz and cocktails you can quaff in two hours. Drink upgrades are available and there are two sittings on the big night, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and from 9pm to 11pm.
The Alchemist, Grey’s Quarter, Eldon Square
The Alchemist invites you to feast this New Year’s Eve with their £38.50 per person sharing menu. Enjoy nibbles to start followed by a tasty and eclectic array of canapes, small plates and sweet treats - think Guinness rarebit, hot honey pork tacos and mini cheesecake - all served in waves.
Babucho, Side
With delicious Italian food and live entertainment, New Year’s Eve at Babucho is always a blast. Sip on a festive prosecco bellini before tucking into their three-course Twilight Dinner Party menu featuring starters like calamari fritti, mains including goat’s cheese risotto and desserts like panna cotta with mulled berry compote. They’re even throwing in a post-midnight drink too!

It’s priced at £95 per person and includes music and entertainment too.
