One of Newcastle’s most glamorous venues is steak-ing a claim on romance this month with the unveiling of its Valentine’s menu.
From 11-14 February, loved up couples at Leila Lily’s Grey Street, can enjoy a Valentine’s Sharing Experience, specially created by Head Chef Chris Finnigan.
And the centrepiece of the three-course meal is a spectacular 18oz Chateaubriand to be shared by two, served with the finest French champagne.
The meal begins with the classic French starter Coquilles St Jacques; Baked Queen Scallops with Gruyère Cheese and a Herb and Potato Crust, before the Chateaubriand is served.
The tenderest of steaks – cut from the thickest part of Beef Tenderloin – it comes cooked to order with side dishes of French Fries, Grilled Cabbage in Garlic Butter, Baked Mushrooms with Garlic Butter, Cheese and Charred Tender Stem Broccoli, with Sesame and Miso Dressing and Smoked Almonds.
It is also accompanied by a Peppercorn Sauce and a classic Diane Sauce, made with Mustard, Worcestershire Sauce, Cream and Cognac.
The meal is then rounded off with a Hot Chocolate Fondant served with Clotted Cream Ice Cream and Rose.
