Joe McElderry's 12 Days of Christmas in NE1

Santa is not the only one doing the rounds this Christmas, our very own jolly Geordie Joe has been busy pinning down some fabulous festivities for you guys to enjoy in the Toon.

He’s put together a list of his favourite Christmas activities in NE1 that will be penciled in his diary for all his days off. It’s going to be a cracker!

1. CHRISTMAS MARKET

I love a christmas market. The Newcastle International Christmas Market is great - go here for great food, good vibes and unique gifts.

2. LIVELLO

A night out in Livello is always good fun with friends. It’s cool, it’s glitzy and it’s perfect for festive celebrations.

3. THE QUAYSIDE

I like to keep a bit of time free for a stroll along the Quayside. Our city is certainly one to be proud of and I love nothing more than taking in the sights from the bridges. It always looks very festive at Christmas time too!

4. HARRY'S BAR

I enjoy a trip to Harry’s Bar with my friends. It has a buzzy atmosphere, delicious food and drinks.

5. HADRIAN'S TIPI

I love Hadrian’s Tipi which I went to last year. I’ll definitely be paying a visit again this Christmas. It’s a winter wonderland in the heart of the city.

6. THEATRE ROYAL

It’s always good to see a show at the city's Theatre Royal. The panto this time of year is a brilliant thing to see with family.

7. AVEIKA

The food at Aveika is incredible. I always try to check in for a feast when I’m back home. Some Christmassy visits are definitely on the cards.

8. LIFE SCIENCE CENTRE

Skating at Life Science Centre's ice rink is always a lot of fun. It’s a great day out with friends and family and always reminds me of Christmas in NE1.

9. THE BOTANIST

The Botanist is great, I particularly like going to the outside seating area at the top - it is amazing. The views of the city are incredible.

10. PLEASED TO MEET YOU

Pleased To Meet You down the gorgeous cobbles on High Bridge is always really fun - particularly if you’re partial to a gin or two!

11. FENWICK

Fenwick Christmas Window is always a festive highlight for me. Who doesn’t love queuing up to check out the fabulous display? It amazes me every single year!

12. METRO RADIO ARENA

And finally… a show at Metro Radio Arena - I’m in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat this December from 19th - 31st. Pop along and see me on stage!
