What a weekend!
Diaries at the ready for another wow weekend in NE1
SATURDAY 18 JANUARY
A good cuppa!
Tea Sutra Teahouse is a calming oasis serving up one of the largest fine tea selections in the city! Go here for a refreshing hot tipple, a range of vegan cakes and sweet treats - guaranteed to put a smile on your face this Saturday!
Watercolour class
Norwegian artist, Ornulf Opdahl, brings a brand new exhibition, 'Landscapes of the Northern Hemisphere', to Gallagher & Turner. The display brings together a new collection of watercolour paintings highlighting Opdahl’s ability to capture luminous atmospheres through washed textures and glowing colour. A must-see, in-situ until 18th January.
Pre-match pint
Head to Gallowgate Road for a pint at Shark Club Gastro Bar this Saturday, and soak up an electric match day vibe! Get all of the day's sporting action from the big screens as you meet the gang before heading over the road to St James' Park to cheer on the lads!
NUFC vs Chelsea
Cheer on the lads as Brucie's side take on Chelsea in a Premier League clash at an electric St James' Park. Don your black and white scarves and sing your heart out as we take on The Blues on home turf!
Local lads!
Don’t miss the chance to see local indie band, Spilt Milk rock Think Tank? this January. The Gateshead four-piece will be taking to the stage with their debut headline gig and we cannot wait to see them live!
SUNDAY 19 JANUARY
Coffee & cake!
Swing by Grey Street's Di Marco this Sunday for coffee and cake, with an Italian twist! There's simply no better way to get the day underway!
A refreshing Quayside stroll
Blow away the cobwebs with a lovely Quayside saunter. Wrap up warm, pick up a piping
hot cup of tea, get a bit of fresh air by the Tyne and stroll the Sunday Quayside Market.
Spicy Sunday!
Head to Cineworld in The Gate for a screening of 1917 - telling the story of two British soldiers at the height of the First World War. In a race against time, the duo must cross enemy lines and deliver a message to stop a deadly attack on hundreds of fellow soldiers.
Comedy clairvoyant
Clinton Baptiste, the hapless clairvoyant from Peter Kay’s smash hit show, Peter Kay’s Pheonix Nights, is back on the road, swinging by The Stand Comedy Club this Sunday. He will give readings to the audience, predict your future and tell you about the past on this special comedy night in NE1!
Party on...
The weekend might be coming to a close, but that doesn't mean we have to stop the party! Gather the gang and head over to Tup Tup Palace, where you can see Sunday out in style with top tunes and drinks deals!
