The Crafty Bazaar is a brand-new craft fair bringing a smorgasbord of local makers, traders and creators to Wylam Brewery this April.

What is The Crafty Bazaar?

Hosted by Matcha Events, it’s a new craft fair that - in the words of founder Joanne Lowes - “curates the ultimate showcase of local artisan creations” and is set to bring 40 different crafters, creators and small businesses to Wylam Brewery this spring.

As the owner of handmade gift company Nifty Gifty NE1 and a fellow crafter herself, Joanne wanted to create an event where local, small businesses could show and sell their wares – and so The Crafty Bazaar was born.

Where and when is it happening?

The first-ever Crafty Bazaar is taking place on Sunday 7th April at Wylam Brewery between 10am and 4pm.

What kind of traders will be there?

There’ll be a variety of traders from all kinds of backgrounds selling things like clothing and jewellery, skin and beauty products, ceramics and homewares, cakes and bakes, prints, candles and much, much more.

Doughnut kings Deep North, plant specialists Plantopia, kids’ wear crafters Tinker Taylor Threads, illustrator Ounce of Style, soapmakers Oakwood Soaperie and skincare specialists Lottie’s Skin Rituals are just a handful of the traders that will be there on the day.

Is it family-friendly?

It certainly is and a perfect family day out if you’re looking for something fun to keep little ones entertained on a Sunday.

How much are tickets and how do I buy them?

Tickets cost £2.50, but under 12s get in for free. Tickets be purchased via the Matcha Events website and Eventbrite, or can be bought at the door on the day.

The first 50 visitors get a free tote bag too, so it pays off to turn up early!

Alongside cakes and bakes inside, a trio of food traders selling delicious eats will be in situ outside – Redheads Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Parm-O-Rama and Scream for Pizza. A bar will be open throughout the event too.

Will there be more Crafty Bazaars in the future?

There certainly will. In fact, a Christmas edition of The Crafty Bazaar is already planned for Sunday 1st December at Wylam Brewery.
