Everything You Need to Know About: NE1's Tiny Toon
All the key details you’ll need to know when Tiny Toon returns to Newcastle this July

Following the huge success of NE1’s Tiny Toon last year, we’re unbelievably proud to bring the fun-sized city back to Newcastle's Eldon Square for 2025!
And as ever, we’ve got all the details that you’ll need to know to make sure you and your family’s visit to Tiny Toon runs as smoothly as possible.
What is NE1’s Tiny Toon?
NE1’s Tiny Toon is probably exactly what you’re thinking – a shrunken version of the city we’re so proud to call home!
We work with different local business to create miniature versions of their venues, filling them with kid-friendly props and toys to keep the little ones busy. It’s all designed to spark their imaginations and creativity… so don’t be surprised if they start asking for another visit to Tiny Toon, instead of the iPad!
Where is NE1’s Tiny Toon?
NE1’s Tiny Toon takes place in Old Eldon Square. Nearby of course, you’ll also find Screen on the Green (with films and 12pm and 3pm, as well as special weekly screenings), and a brand new stay and play space.
If you’re travelling into town via the Metro, it’s just a six minute walk from Monument Metro – but Eldon Square Bus Station is just a stones throw away.

When is it taking place?
Tiny Toon officially opens to the public on the 21st July, and will shut its doors on the 31st August. It's open from 10am to 5pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 9:30am 'til 5pm on Tuesdays and from 9am to 4:30pm on Sundays.
Don’t forget that we’ll be having a closing weekend party too, so don’t forget to come along before the shrunken city closes for another year!
What should I expect to find at NE1’s Tiny Toon?
Like we say, the clue’s in the name when it comes to NE1’s Tiny Toon! There’ll be kid-friendly versions of some iconic Newcastle businesses, jam-packed with toys, props and costumes to help them play make believe.
Whether they fancy becoming a doctor at the RVI, driving the Metro, treading the Tyne Theatre & Opera House boards, cooking up a storm at Blackfriars, shopping at Eldon Square, exploring the Tyne Bridge or playing scientist at a mini Life Science Centre, there’ll be something to spark everyone’s imagination.

How much are tickets to NE1’s Tiny Toon?
Tiny Toon is completely free to attend, as is the stay and place space, and Screen on the Green!
Is there anything else I should know about NE1’s Tiny Toon?
We were blown away by the popularity of Tiny Toon last year, so of course we can’t wait to welcome everyone back! Please note that we’ll be operating the area on a one family- in, one family-out policy – so there may be a slight wait before entry and make sure you get down early!
For those with children or family members who may appreciate a quieter environment (including children and families with sensory sensitivities), we offer a relaxed early opening on Sundays at 9am.
Please note that last admission into the Tiny Toon area is 30 minutes before closing and that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Due to the outdoor nature of the play space, there may be occasions where Tiny Toon may unfortunately have to close unexpectedly due to weather conditions.
And there you have it; everything you need to know for when NE1’s Tiny Toon returns to the city centre this July. And with free films and stay and play spaces available too, what better excuse to bring the whole family into Toon this Summer!
