NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week is back this August, and it’s bigger and better than ever! This month, foodies, families and friends can dine at over a hundred of the city centre’s top restaurants at just £15, £20 and £25 price points. Plus, with the likes of St Sushi, Dakota Grill, Pho and Colmans making their Restaurant Week debut, this August is one you won’t want to miss.

The Lightening Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical @ Theatre Royal
It won't be Another Terrible Day if you catch The Lightning Thief at Newcastle Theatre Royal this August! Since debuting back in 2014 off-Broadway, The Percy Jackson Musical has gone from strength-to-strength with plenty of toe-tapping tunes and stunning set designs. And hey, if critics have described it as an adventure “worthy of the gods”, then who are we to disagree?!

Newcastle Mela @ Exhibition Park
Also returning to Toon this month is Newcastle Mela! Showcasing the rich heritage of Pakistani, Bengali, Indian, and other South Asian cultures, there’ll be loads of music, mouth-watering food, and captivating entertainment to enjoy across the Sunday and Monday of the August bank holiday weekend at Exhibition Park. Don’t forget about Mela in the City too, which kicks off the weekend at Grey’s Monument on the Saturday!

Peter Kay Live @ Utilita Arena
From Pheonix Nights to Car Share, screen and stand-up legend Peter Kay takes to the Utilita Arena stage this August. It’s all part of his phenomenal return to the comedy scene, which started way back in December 2022 and has since developed into a record-breaking tour. So if you fancy laughing the night away, then this is the place to be.

Battle Royale @ Wylam Brewery
Talented food vendors go head-to-head once again in Wylam Brewery’s Battle Royale! The summer street food Olympics sees heavyweights from Wylam’s infamous Food Battles compete to be crowned the best of the best in their genre. Oh, and that’s not forgetting the sides, ice creams, beers, and coffees that’ll be on offer too!

Summer Tournament Day @ Newcastle Castle
This August, Newcastle Castle is inviting guests to step back in time with their Summer Tournament Day!
