It’s time to get excited for the biggest weekend in the Betfred Super League calendar! Magic Weekend returns to St James’ Park for two days full of exciting Rugby League clashes on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th June and Newcastle is once again the heart of the action.
It’ll be Magic Weekend’s seventh visit to St James’ Park and it’s a great opportunity for rugby fans (and non-fans alike!) to enjoy this fantastic festival of sport, with all matches happening in one place across the weekend.
The fixtures include the opening match on Saturday between Hull KR and Salford Red Devils; Wigan Warriors will take on Catalans Dragons, the first time these two sides have met at Magic Weekend; and the day will conclude with what promises to be a thrilling West Yorkshire derby match featuring Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers.
On Sunday, newly promoted Leigh Leopards will make their third appearance at Magic Weekend when they take on Wakefield Trinity; there’s a titanic clash between reigning Betfred Super League champions St Helens who play Huddersfield Giants; and the final game of the weekend sees Hull FC face Warrington Wolves.
As ever, the weekend is as much about what goes on outside the stadium as it is inside, and the Fan Zone on Strawberry Place will offer up all kinds of entertainment and refreshments, with the unique Magic Weekend pass-out system and unreserved seating meaning fans can come and go from the stadium as they please and enjoy the full experience.
There are a variety of ticket options, and all day tickets include three matches. Tickets start from just £20 for adults, £15 for concessions and £10 for juniors. What’s more, book before Sunday 26th February and get 20% off all tickets!
Rhodri Jones, chief commercial officer at Super League said: "We are delighted to announce the return of Magic Weekend to Newcastle. It is a firm favourite with fans and a date that players look forward to in the calendar."
