Check out our city's stunning new Christmas Markets! A vibrant mix of local and international markets are joining forces this Christmas, meaning you can enjoy 6 weeks of Christmas extravaganza in the heart of the city! Newcastle’s Christmas Markets will be up and running from 16th November all the way through to December 31st - so all your festive shopping needs are sorted right up to the wire!
This year’s market additions include a helter skelter-style bar at Grey’s Monument, perfect for a mulled wine, hot chocolate and mid-shop mince pie break. Fenwick's Christmas Window has arrived, and boy it's good! Fenwick is the gift that just keeps on giving this Christmas. FESTIVE FUN IN NE1
OPEN-AIR ICE RINK

The rink is an iconic festive tradition in Newcastle and is returning to its Life Science Centre spot for the 19th year running! The open-air ice rink isn’t the only Christmas activity happening at this spot either - the festive fun is heating up inside the centre, too! Guests can enjoy intergalactic yuletide greetings from astronauts, Christmas sparklers during science theatre shows and making inks for that all-important personalised letter to Santa. Speaking of the man in the red suit, Santa will return rink-side to hear those must- have wish lists! (Separate charges apply for Science Centre admission, ice skating and Santa visits.)
HADRIAN’S TIPI
The amazing tipi has returned! Yes, that’s right - the popular winter hideaway in the heart of Newcastle is returning for another year of feel- good festive fun. Situated at STACK, Hadrian’s Tipi is the perfect place to cosy up by the open fire pit and sip on an aromatic glass of mulled wine whilst listening to live music.
