The partnership will help deliver an exciting new experience for both local people and visitors to the city, making it a Christmas to remember! Festive fanatics can look forward to a magical Christmas trail and a website to help everyone navigate themselves around Newcastle’s enchanting winter wonderland. Brimming with all the vital info you need for this year’s Christmas events and activities in the Toon, the website will also help attract new visitors to the city and position Newcastle as a major festive destination in Europe. Check out our city's stunning new Christmas Markets! A vibrant mix of local and international markets are joining forces this Christmas, meaning you can enjoy 6 weeks of Christmas extravaganza in the heart of the city! Newcastle’s Christmas Markets will be up and running from 16th November all the way through to December 31st - so all your festive shopping needs are sorted right up to the wire!

This year’s market additions include a helter skelter-style bar at Grey’s  Monument, perfect for a mulled wine, hot chocolate and mid-shop mince pie break. You'll also find a 30m toboggan run and fairground carousel on Blackett Street, as well as seasonal stalls jam-packed with unique gifts. Foodies are in for a treat too... tuck into fresh cheddar cheese from the hills of Snowdonia, huge German bratwursts, and some of the sweetest treats you'll find this Christmas!






Fenwick's Christmas Window has arrived, and boy it's good! Fenwick is the gift that just keeps on giving this Christmas. Not only do we have the Rooftop Cinema and Club Claus to enjoy, but families can now marvel at their iconic Christmas Window display! The covers went up mid- October at the famous department store and excitement reached fever pitch as the whole of the region waited in anticipation for the next instalment. Following on from last year’s dazzling Snowman unveiling, the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory display looks absolutely amazing. What better way to spend Christmas than with loved ones, enjoying an iconic festive fixture in the Toon.

The rink is an iconic festive tradition in Newcastle and is returning to its Life Science Centre spot for the 19th year running! The open-air ice rink isn’t the only Christmas activity happening at this spot either - the festive fun is heating up inside the centre, too! Guests can enjoy intergalactic yuletide greetings from astronauts, Christmas sparklers during science theatre shows and making inks for that all-important personalised letter to Santa. Speaking of the man in the red suit, Santa will return rink-side to hear those must- have wish lists! (Separate charges apply for Science Centre admission, ice skating and Santa visits.)






The amazing tipi has returned! Yes, that’s right - the popular winter hideaway in the heart of Newcastle is returning for another year of feel- good festive fun. Situated at STACK, Hadrian’s Tipi is the perfect place to cosy up by the open fire pit and sip on an aromatic glass of mulled wine whilst listening to live music. This year, the Tipi will provide more festive treats, making it the ideal place to take a break from shopping and seek refuge from the ferocious winter weather.
