Newcastle’s reputation as a party town is well-founded, and the city centre is full of versatile and eclectic venues ready and waiting to host your next shindig. WC NewcastleBigg Market

It’s not often you can party in a renovated underground ‘water closet’, so WC Newcastle is definitely a venue with a twist! This 130 year old subterranean wine and cocktail bar can host 60 of your nearest and dearest, and caters for every special event you can think of (plus there’s no room hire charge). Food collabs with nearby Bigg Market vendors and an option to add live music or entertainment to your night will add a special touch.
 



 

AboveLower Dean Street

If you’re looking for somewhere with the wow factor, Above has got you covered. The spectacular rooftop venue at The Vermont Hotel offers unrivalled views across the city, and is the perfect destination for that special celebration, with a maximum capacity of 300 and prices starting at £500. An adaptable layout, bespoke lighting, quality service and delicious food comes as standard. There’s also an option to hire the outdoor roof terrace on its own, with prices starting at £250 (Apr-Sept only) and a capacity of 100.
 

Redhouse, 32 Sandhill

Hire your own slice of pie heaven at Redhouse on the Quayside. Expect tasty ales, delicious pies baked in nearby Jesmond and a rustic interior of exposed beams and dark wood. Give them a shout for private hire info.



 

Maldron Hotel, 17 Newgate Street

Ideally located in the heart of the city, the Maldron Hotel’s excellent range of suites and meeting rooms is ideally suited to a smart corporate event. The suites are fully kitted out with 75 inch plasma screens, air con, free WiFi, delegate stationery and a break out area with unlimited refreshments. Events suiting 40 guests are perfect for the Dobson and Stephenson Suites, while the Grainger Suite has a capacity of 60 and the outdoor courtyard can host up to 150 guests.



 

All Seeing Eye11 Groat Market

A unique and out of sight venue, perched above the street in the Bigg Market, All Seeing Eye is a secretive haven with 1920s inspired décor, providing a secret hideaway from the city lights for your party of up to 125 people. They offer DJs for hire, drinks and food packages, and a variety of room options.
 

YOLO, 14 High Bridge

According to this smart city centre bar, You Only Live Once – meaning it’s the perfect place to have that once in a lifetime party! Spread over three floors on Newcastle’s historic High Bridge, the venue has special areas perfect for private hires, with booths, snugs, real brick walls, minimalist décor and bespoke packages. The Parlour hosts 50-75 guests, while the Roof Terrace is perfect for an intimate gathering of 15-35 guests and comes with a retractable roof and all-important heaters! The Snug is ideal for a work night out or small gathering, hosting 10-15. Food options include finger and pizza buffets and nibbles.



 

Castro’s, 3-5 Hood Street

Give your party a Latin flavour thanks to Castro’s Rum-Bah Room, which can host 130 guests (or 50 seated). It’s a bar with style, sass and a hint of attitude, not to mention a tantalising menu of Cuban-inspired delicacies, mouth-watering cocktails, the city’s most extensive collection of rums and the option for self-serve kegs. There’s even a chance to gather a few of your buddies and join a Prosecco and Tapas cocktail class!



 

The Hustle, Newgate Street

Want a stilt walker or fire breather at your next bash? The Hustle’s got you covered. A disco lounge with live beats, The Hustle’s grill bar offers a sizzling menu of New York-style fusion, from Harlem Soul to Little Italy, Chinatown and the Big Apple’s home-grown favourites. The Common RoomNeville Hall, Westgate Road

A spectacular Grade II* listed building with a tonne of character and history, The Common Room is a unique heritage venue in the heart of the city, ideal for a classy and sophisticated party. 325 guests can be accommodated across three floors and multiple rooms, making it a top choice for anything from weddings to corporate events, conferences and cultural events. The Wood Hall is ideal for weddings, conferences and dining with a capacity of 150; the Lecture Theatre is perfect for a seminar or presentation for up to 100; while the Stephenson Room is a versatile space hosting up to 70.
 



Prohibition Cabaret Bar25-27 Pink Lane

Perfect for a quirky celebration, why not hire Prohibition Cabaret Bar’s first floor 50 capacity space. Ideal for anniversaries, wedding receptions, work parties and so much more, featuring in-house PA system, private bar and personal doorman. Or why not hire The Bureau, an exclusive mock 1930’s FBI Prohibition Bureau perfect for private gaming, board meetings or anything else you can think of for 2-10 guests.
 



ChachaBuchi, 28-32 Collingwood Street

A chic hideout with rustic glamour, ChachaBuchi prides itself as a grown up playground. The venue’s mezzanine is available to book for up to 120 guests, and comes complete with its own bar, shuffle boards (or beer/Prosecco pong table, depending on how classy your event is!), and you can even book your own private ski chalet with exclusive toilets and bar for 75 people.
 



 

Howlers28-32 Collingwood Street

This is one for the liveliest of get togethers! Perfect for stag and hen parties, and home to Newcastle’s only ball pit bar, the biggest venue at Howlers can hold up to 150 guests, or you could book just the ball pit and a private area for up to 20. Crowd karaoke, a slice bar and bonkers live entertainment will make it a night to remember!

Colonel Porters, Milburn House, Dean Street

Located in the heart of Newcastle, Colonel Porters is one we cannot forget. The perfect venue if you and your chums love sipping on vintage cocktails or enjoy a tispy tea. Head into the secret den, also known as Archies Lab, for a night full of celebrations. Hosting up to 100 people, partake in a Rhum or Cocktail Masterclass and a dance or two.
