How to Spend Christmas Eve in NE1

Festive fun for the whole family. Whether you’re hunting down some last minute gifts, sitting down with Santa before he sets off on his sleigh, popping to the panto or getting in the festive spirit with food and drink, we’ve got you covered for Christmas Eve fun in NE1!

The ultimate festive breakfast will be taking place at the County Hotel this Christmas Eve. Round up the whole family and settle in for a sumptuous selection of morning favourites, with a very special visit from the man himself! Tuck into everything from fruit, eggs and pancakes, to tea, coffee and juices, before catching up with Santa and leaving with an early present to kick off the festivities! From £10.95 per adult and £6.95 per child – under 3s go free.

There’s no better time to enjoy a bit of panto magic! Make your way to the Tyne Theatre & Opera House for the ultimate festive tradition for the whole family. Join Maureen Nolan, Jamie Lambert, Lola Saunders, Charlie Richmond and co. as they bring the glittering tale of Cinderella to life – in true panto style! Think pumpkins, mice, princesses and glass slippers as our favourite rags to riches story unfolds on stage. Don’t be late for the ball!

On a mission to find something for that difficult-to-buy-for relative? Looking to pick up some last minute stocking fillers? Worry not - our friends at intu Eldon Square have got you covered! Beat the rush, park up at Manors Multi-Storey nearby, and shop, shop, shop, until your bags are full and you’re all set for the big day! If you’re pushed for time, there will be gift-wrapping volunteers on hand between Fenwick and Boots, who will make your life much easier! Shop between 9am and 5pm this Christmas Eve.

Ticked off your gift lists? Done all of your Christmas to-dos? Now it’s time to kick-back and enjoy the festive season! Do it in style this Christmas Eve with a tipple or two at STACK. With the cosy and incredibly Christmassy Hadrian’s Tipi at its heart, there’s no better place to unwind with a mulled wine, toast with a glass of fizz, or just soak up the vibe with loved ones. Wine-lovers should visit Fourteen Drops, foodies should get their steak and chicken fix at Cluck Cluck Moo, and those looking to see in the festive season with a pint should swing by Barley & Me. Cheers to Christmas, folks!
