Everything You Need to Know About: Beyond Van Gogh

After wowing audience across the world, Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is finally coming to Newcastle this summer.

Whether you’re an aficionado of art or a Vincent Van Gogh novice, this breathtaking journey into the virtuoso’s works is one you won’t want to miss.

What is Beyond Van Gogh?

It’s a breathtaking immersive art experience that brings the works of Vincent van Gogh to life using cutting-edge projection technology set to a specially curated musical soundtrack.

Guests will experience over 300 of Van Gogh’s masterpieces – from The Starry Night and Sunflowers to Café Terrace at Night – in the main immersive gallery, plus a specially designed “reflection space” before exiting that features a stunning “Sunflower Alley” inspired by his most famous work.

When is it coming to Newcastle?

Beyond Van Gogh will be in Newcastle from Sunday 12th July 2026 to Sunday 9th August 2026.

It’s taking place at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on Arena Way.

How long does the experience last?

The immersive experience lasts for approximately one hour.

What time should I arrive?

Booking slots are available between 9am/10am and 5pm/6pm depending on the day and guests are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes before their selected slots to allow plenty of time for ticket scanning and security checks.

Is the experience suitable for all ages?

Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive experience is suitable for all ages, but children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Does the show feature flashing lights or loud sounds?

Yes, the show includes bright lighting and some loud audio. It also includes moving images, sounds and lights that may cause dizziness or motion sickness. Guests with photosensitive epilepsy, sound sensitivity or related conditions – or those with any health-related concerns – are advised to consult a medial professional before attending.

SEND-friendly sessions are held every Monday during the show’s run between 12pm and 2pm and feature fewer guests and a more relaxed environment.

Is the experience wheelchair and buggy accessible?

The show takes place on a single accessible level, so wheelchairs and mobility aids are welcome. Buggies and prams are also permitted but please be aware that there are no buggy storage areas.

How much are tickets?

Several ticket options are available and prices vary according to the day, but adult/16+ tickets are available from £26.33 and children’s tickets (4-15 years) cost from £15.77. Family tickets (valid for one adult and one child) are also available and priced from £18.85.

Children under the age of three get free admission (though tickets must be booked), and guests aged 65+, NHS workers, Blue Light cardholders and students can take advantage of a reduced rate with proof of eligibility.

VIP Experience tickets cost from £35.13 and include flexible entry time before 4pm, a queue jump and complimentary merchandise.

Tickets for Beyond Yoga are also available and on sale from Friday 27th March, with prices to be announced soon.

What is Beyond Yoga?

It’s a unique opportunity to practice yoga surrounded by the stunning and immersive visuals of Beyond Van Gogh – a peaceful and inspiring experience that’ll centre your Zen in no time.

Sessions take place at 9am on select Saturdays and Sundays during the show’s run and tickets include entry to the exhibition afterwards. Yoga mats are not provided, so please remember to bring your own!

How do I book tickets?

Tickets can be purchased via AXS. A limited number of tickets may also be available to purchase on the door, subject to availability. Given the popularity of the show, tickets are expected to sell fast so booking ahead is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Can I take photos?

Yes, photos are actually encouraged! The event organisers would love to see your photos too – tag them using @beyondvangoghuk and #BeyondVanGoghUK on your socials!

Please note, however, that video recording, flash photography and professional equipment are not permitted.
