Everything you need to know about Central Park

Last updated:

The legendary Central Park opens its gates for 2022 on Thursday 14th April and we can’t wait!

We caught up with Mike Hesketh, owner of the multi-level entertainment park located in Times Square, for a quick Q&A on everything you can expect this year from the iconic venue!

When does Central Park open?

Our VIP Launch is this Thursday, 14th April from 6pm, but everyone is invited all Easter weekend! We’re open every day, midday to midnight!

Which times and days is Central Park open this year?

Our parkside roof garden, sports bar and food court is open 7 days a week, Monday – Thursday, from 4pm - 12am and Friday - Sunday 12pm-12am.

We open the full Central Park venue, on Thursdays and Fridays from 4pm - 12am, and on  Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm-12am!

Do I need to book, or can I drop in? Do I have to pay?

Walk ins are always welcome! If you’d like to make sure you’ve got a seat just book a table online and plan ahead, its £5 per person and that includes a drink each!

What’s new at Central Park this year? What are the different areas?

We have multi storey areas, from our Ciroc VIP mezzanine which overlooks everything; to the Parkside bar which is open 7 days a week, with multiple sports on TV, and it also has some unreal food units. We also now have our own beach and surf shack as well as 3 huge bars, posh toilets, a performance stage, fire pits, and 50 electric heaters! Honestly, I know I might be biased, but it’s amazing! The new walls break the wind, the decor makes you feel like you’re on your hols… It’s like last year’s Central Park but even bigger and better!

What happens if it rains? Is there cover? Heaters to huddle round?

This year we have tons of shelter across Central Park, and we have purchased 50 heaters that are spread on site, as well as four large fire pits to keep you toasty!

What’s on the big screen this year, and what are you looking forward to most?

We have the huge Tyson Fury fight coming up on St George’s Day, our iconic Eurovision screening which was amazing last year and has already sold over 50% of tables, plus all the televised football games, including Newcastle ones, the FA Cup Final and the Champions League! Plus, this year we have 10 more TVs on site so you can watch multiple games!

What can we expect from the VIP terraced area?

Bottle service, heat, shelter, comfy seats, and the best view in the park, perfect!

Is there food available inside? What is it?

Our Parkside food court has three of the best street food traders in the city, open 7 days a week! Acropolis and their greek gyros, Brack Burger, and Gingerinos pizza!

Is there a dress code?

Nope! Whether you want to come fancy or casual, we welcome all!

What drinks are available? Are there cocktails??

We have a vast array of drinks on the menu this year with almost 10 beers, around 30 spirits, tons of cocktails (from spritzes to old fashioned, martinis to daiquiris), and this year we are armed with slushie machines for frozen margaritas all summer long!

Do you book per table or by group size? How big are the tables?

Large groups are always good to book ahead, and we have tables of 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 18, 24. We can also go higher and reserve areas if requested!

Are there any group rates?

No, all are priced the same across the site for regular events which is £5 per person. We do have a £500 minimum spend on our Ciroc VIP Booths but this is for up to 12 people and bottle service, it’s still a great deal.

Can I bring my dog? Or any other animal?

Yes! Dogs are regularly welcome at Central Park. We even have our own water station for them! However, some gala events, such as Scouting for Girls, you’ll sadly need to leave your dog with a dog sitter!

Where should I park if I’m driving?

Times Square car park is ideal, just between the Life Centre and the Utilita Arena.

So there you have it! All your burning questions about Central Park have been answered (we hope!). Thanks to Mike for his time, and check out their website and social media pages to keep up to date on their events throughout the summer! We can’t wait to spend some hot sunny afternoons in various areas he’s told us all about!
