Celebrate Northern Pride 2019

Last updated:

It’s July, the sun is shining (hopefully) and the city is a sea of rainbows! It means one thing, Northern Pride is back in the Toon. Here’s what you can expect from this year’s colourful LGBTQ+ event…

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Friday 19 - Sunday 21 July 2019

Pride is back! And it’s as vibrant as ever with a lively line-up of more pop stars and party people than ever before.

Team NE1 is delighted to, once again, sponsor the UK’s biggest and best free pride festival, as it returns to the Town Moor and Exhibition Park!

The thrilling three-day festival takes over from Friday 19th until Sunday 21st July 2019, bringing big-name artists, fairground rides and an array of food and drink options for families and party-goers alike.

This year, the Town Moor becomes the Pride Festival Arena, home to the Main Stage; while Exhibition Park joins the festival to host the Community Village and and fun-filled family zones.

The fun doesn’t stop there. Northern Pride Festival also includes the Stonewall Remembrance March as a sparkling sea of rainbow colours descends on the city for another Pride parade! Over 20,000 people joined the parade last year, let’s see those figures rise again for 2019!

Visit the Northern Pride website and kit yourselves out in your rainbow colours, before filling your diaries with all the fun stuff - including live music from Fleur East, Saara Aalto and Liberty X - headlining the Manchester Airport Los Angeles Stage, while the legendary Bongo’s Bingo celebrations play out (tickets sold separately) on the Friday night. Other must-see acts include Newcastle’s Queen of Comedy, Miss Rory, as well as Drag Idol 2019 winner, Choriza May.

Don’t forget to head over to The Community Village where you’ll find the Curious Arts Stage, Tesco Family and Youth Zone, Health and Wellbeing Zone, Rainbow Village and the EDF Stonewall Remembrance Garden.

Time to dress up in your brightest gear, add a splash of colour and bring the city alive as we celebrate the Northern Pride Festival 2019!

The event is free to attend, but party people can upgrade to Platinum Passes and can get involved with additional events such as a Bongo’s Bingo - Pride special!
