When will my flag be raised for #NE1isWelcome?
You can’t miss our flags at Ceremonial Way Newcastle Civic Centre this month! Did you see them being raised on Thursday?
The flags are part of our Welcome Students of the World Event, 8th September – 2nd October, in which we are welcoming students from 152 different countries to our city! Alongside the flags displayed at the Civic Centre, there will be searchlights beamed from seven city centre locations each night and opening and closing firework displays.
But what if the flag of your country isn't flying on the poles at the moment? Not to worry, we are rotating them every six days to make sure every single one is displayed. So when can you see your flag?
See the below dates for the flag changeovers, and list of countries to be displayed each time. We would love you to join us to help us raise your country’s flag! If you’re interested in raising your country’s flag, please email [email protected].
Visiting the flags? Remember to share your pictures on social media and use the hashtag #NE1isWelcome
