When NE1 Met McBusted

Amongst many other fans, we were delighted when Metro Radio Arena announced that McFly and Busted had formed together to create one super boyband and were performing in Newcastle this April and May! We got to meet the boys ahead of the tour and we asked you on our Facebook and Twitter what you wanted to find out too. What do you do when you're on tour? McBusted - Being on tour, we don't often get to see much of the area where we're staying. At lot of the time, we wake up at 4, get to the venue, and start rehearsing and then after the gig, we're off and traveling to the next city. When we do get days off, we just want to chill. Will there be a single or album? Matt - I hope so Danny - We hope so. Matt - We just don't know, we don't know what's going on. We announced eleven dates and now we're just playing catch up. Tom  - It's all happened over the last three weeks. It's all taken us by surprise. The response from everyone has been crazy. All these opportunities have been presented to us now because of the demand. The dates we've put on, sold out in 500 seconds. Danny - If McBusted were to do something, it has to be incredible so however we find that incredible song... Harry - We have talked about it, and I think we know what we want and what we want this band to be about. Tom - We are the biggest fans of our own bands, so we want the same thing that all the fans want but that doesn't mean that we're definitely going to release music. We want it to be incredible, it has to live up to the legacy that Busted and McFly has done so far.The expectations will be so high, it has to be perfect. Matt - We don't want to rush it.  It would be cool to have some songs that incorporate a lot of vocals because there are so many singers in the band, it would be great to have maybe some crazy harmony action going on. Some songs with hooks that depend on big group vocals would be marvelous, you know, Beach Boys stuff. We want to but it's been a bit of a blur, we only announced our dates about three weeks ago. We only want to create the album if it's very very good. Are you planning to work with any other writers? Danny - Very good question! We're open to working with a lot of people. Matt - We don't know, we're going to see what happens, we really don't have any plans James - I like working with many different people. Matt - I was writing with Steve Robson this year actually, before I knew this was all going to happen. Steve did our first album. Me, Tom and the rest of the guys love writing our own songs anyway. Harry - There's a lot of songwriting talent in the band, but I think everyone's just open to anything right now We also presented them with our NE1's Newcastle Fashion Week t-shirts by Barbour too, which they were delighted with. Tom - Thanks for bringing presents. Thank you very much. James - I love my new t-shirt! I always need clean clothes! Matt - Don't be surprised if you see James wearing that t-shirt on TV, James have you got a clean t-shirt on? James - Yes! Ha!
