Turn Over a New Leaf

Shopzone Lounge intu Eldon Square

intu Eldon Square is challenging shoppers to turn over a new leaf this autumn with a special service offering style suggestions and information on the very latest trends. A new pop up style advice area is being created in the St Andrew’s Way Mall, just outside flagship Debenhams store, near New Look, Schuh and Hollister, aiming to give shoppers inspiration for the coming autumn/winter season. Style advisers from intu Eldon Square retailers will be on hand to promote the latest fashion and beauty trends, and there’ll be great giveaways and fun competitions. Shoppers can share their inspirations for the coming season in a competition to win a £250 intu gift card to refresh their wardrobe, and there’s the chance to ‘Strike a Pose’ and share a #newleaf snap on Twitter, FB or Instagram – and one lucky shopper will win a £50 intu gift card every day from 1st – 17th October. Fashion and textile designer Celia Birtwell, known for her distinctive, bold, romantic and feminine designs, has been commissioned by intu to create an exclusive print design showcased on limited edition tote ‘shopper’ bags available at intu Eldon Square - free while stocks last. The Shopzone Lounge will be launched on Tuesday 29th September at an exclusive preview evening with Miss Newcastle 2015 Vicky Turner and other Miss Newcastle finalists who will model the latest trends from AW15. Vicky Turner, said: “Through winning Miss Newcastle I've had so many experiences with modelling and charity work over the past three months that it's honestly changed my life already! Fashion wise, for AW15 I’m most looking forward to a classic chunky knit and layering up my looks. I’m in love with this year’s rusty colours they really complement the autumn season!” Tyne Tees Models will be searching the malls on Tuesday 6th October at intu Eldon Square’s Student Night for prospective Miss Newcastle contestants for next year’s competition, Miss Newcastle’s ‘Year of Carnival’ 2016, inspired by the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Lesley Middlemiss Lister, Managing Director of Tyne Tees Models said: ‘We are looking for enthusiastic girls that will truly represent the city of Newcastle and get involved with our local charities that we pride ourselves on raising funds for. The ‘Turn Over a New Leaf’ event will be a great platform for budding fashionistas to showcase their personal style during October as we are always on the look out for models of the future!” Joan Taylor, Marketing Manager at intu Eldon Square, commented: “This October at intu Eldon Square we’re showing that we really do have a passion for fashion! We hope that lots of our customers will take advantage of our new Shopzone Lounge, an oasis of fashion inspiration; an area to check out the latest styles, and experiment with looks they wouldn’t normally consider, as well as entering our great competitions of course! I personally can’t wait to see our specially designed Celia Birtwell tote bags. Celia has been credited by figures from the world of fashion and art such as Mary Quant, David Hockney and Manolo Blahnik. She has created designs for Valentino and continues to produce prints for Liberty – so I am guessing this limited edition bag is going to be extremely popular indeed with our stylish shoppers. Our autumn campaign will enable our retailers to join forces and showcase the fantastic variety of new season’s styles on offer at intu Eldon Square .”
