Trevor Horn Invites Hometown Musicians to Join His Band at O2 City Hall this December
Trevor Horn and his band will be bringing a brand-new live show “Video Killed the Radio Star” to the O2 City Hall Newcastle on December 18th where the legendary music producer will revisit an impressive career.
Known as ‘the man who invented the eighties’, Trevor produced The Buggles, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Grace Jones, ABC, Pet Shop Boys, Seal and is also known for his work with Yes, Tina Turner, Robbie Williams and Paul McCartney. Trevor is a multi- Brit Award winner, Grammy Winner, has a CBE for services to the music industry and was also awarded an Ivor Novello for outstanding contribution to British Music.
Born in Hetton-Le-Hole, Trevor spent much of his childhood around Durham before moving to London in his early 20’s.
Revisiting the North East for his Newcastle City Hall show on December 18th, Trevor has invited musicians from Hetton-Le-Hole band “The Welfare Collective” to perform some of his hits live on stage with him.
The Welfare Collective are a roots-rock/pop band from Hetton and surrounding areas. Brass-centric, they write songs to celebrate working class communities. Releases have featured recent collaborations with Marty Longstaff (The Lake Poets), David Brewis (Field Music) and Drew Michael (Sam Fender).
The Welfare Collective brass section David Smith, Philippa Smith, James Wright, Craig Hissett and Jo Wright will be joining musicians Ash Soan, Lol Creme, Jamie Squire and others in the Trevor Horn band for his new live show “Video Killed the Radio Star” at O2 City Hall Newcastle on December 18th
