Tia’s Mexican Cantina Unveils Its Empleados

An exciting new Tex Mex restaurant is getting ready to open its doors at Newcastle’s The Gate – and its empleados are all revved up to go.

Tia’s Mexican Cantina has transformed a ground floor unit at the shopping complex into a vibrant, colourful and unique eating space, full of original artwork which is helping to create the Latin American vibe.

And now Kaleido Leisure - the team behind the opening which also owns a similar successful restaurant in Durham – is one step nearer unveiling it to the public, by introducing its empleados – staff.

The new restaurant has created 30 jobs, covering everything from front and back of house staff who will help deliver the exciting new menu to cocktail makers and chefs.

The restaurant promises to bring a real taste of Mexico’s most popular dishes to The Gate, which will offer 140 seats and along with the authentic food will serve a range of premium tequilas.

“We have recruited a really strong team and we are looking forward to getting the doors open in the near future and sharing with everyone what we’ve created in Newcastle,” he said.

“Everyone is so enthusiastic about Tia’s and we’ve got a really strong team who can’t wait to meet our customers.”

Along the treats in store will be the opportunity to see the custom artwork which has been created for the restaurant by North East artist, Lee Ferry, who specialises in large scale paintings.
