Newcastle Card Show returns to Sports Central this October
The North East's longest-running trading card convention celebrates its eighth event on 17 and 18 October, bringing collectors, artists and local vendors together at Northumbria University Sports Central. Likely to sell out.
Newcastle Card Show trading card fair returns to Northumbria University Sports Central on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026 for its eighth edition. The event brings together dozens of vendors, artists and collectors from across the North East and beyond for a weekend celebrating trading card games and collectibles.
The two-day fair is a treasure trove for collectors of all ages, with a wide variety of vendors selling everything from Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering and One Piece cards to Disney's Lorcana and sports cards. A dedicated social area will give visitors the chance to trade with and meet fellow collectors, while demonstrations on how to play some of the card games will run throughout the weekend, supported by North East game store Bay Games.
New for this year - Entry to the show also includes access to Palette Town, a curated exhibition of bespoke trading-card-game-inspired artwork by local makers, with every piece available to buy.
With seven consecutive sell-out events behind it, Newcastle Card Show is the North East's longest-running trading card convention — organised for, and by, people from the region. Full details of vendors, guests and exhibitors taking part can be found on the show's Instagram or Facebook page.
Isabel ‘OREA’ (@OREA.Newcastle), a regular vendor at the show and a familiar face at Tynemouth Market, said: “My customers have a fantastic time at the show and it's a great opportunity to catch up socially. It's a well organised, friendly environment for families with children, and adults.” Event co-organiser and Newcastle-based online Pokémon content creator Ash T (@Golden_Gibbon_) added: “Newcastle Card Show prides itself on being accessible to all ages and levels of interest in the trading card hobby, as well as being a champion of North East trading card businesses. You never really know who or what you might discover next.”
