The Great Market Caper Returns This October for a Very Special Halloween Themed Edition

The next Great Market Caper will kick off at 6.30pm on 29th October in Newcastle’s Grainger Market. In keeping with quirky Caper style, the organisers have promised not only a great night out, but something just a little bit different: Halloween, but not as you know it!
With such amazing feedback from the first two Capers, number three will see more traders joining in the fun, the return by popular demand of others, and a bigger Caper footprint to accommodate everything.
And because this time it’s Halloween, Viz’s legendary Simon Donald will be telling some very scary stories, Brooke from Freelance Dance will be teaching the best Thriller dance moves, and piano maestro Cam Baker will be leading a super singalong to all the best spooky numbers including Ghost Town, Psycho Killer, and Bat out of Hell. And not mentioning Day of the Dead, you might even get quite a fright if you venture too far down Alley One towards our Mexican friends Cantina Newcaslte.
Also new for this Caper is the Vintage Night Market, expected to become a fixture if it goes down well. Based in Alley 3 alongside a photo booth, the seven stalls, all run by local entrepreneurs, will be selling to-die-for (get it!) vintage clothes and jewelry.
Beyond this, organiser Sean Bullick, confirmed that guests can expect an even wider range of fantastic food on offer, bars stocking everything from local beers to tropical cocktails, live music, star DJs Multiminded Music, top comedy, and lots of Line Dancing.
He added “we’re delighted to welcome back cocktail sensations Mother Mercy and to have the fabulous Snack Wallah join us for the first time. We’ve got great hip-hop from local BBC-Introducing star Don Jenkins and, for something completely different, The Reissues will be doing a set belting out all our favourite covers. Comedy comes from BCC Three star Seymour Mace and colleagues, working out of the 1-2-1 Café in Alley 3.
Halloween fancy dress is being encouraged, although is by no means compulsory. The Great Market Caper is a 16+ event and tickets costing £10 are available at www.thecaper.co.uk
