The Argie Bhaji - Indian Inspired Street Food Curry Battle

Following the success of their previous 'Food Battle' event, namely the Battle Of The Burger, One20 and Unit44 have turned their attention to another genre for culinary competition. Sure to be the hottest event in town, they are set to accompany bonfire weekend with a sensory overload of all things Indian spice.

Continuing on with the battle format, eight vendors will be invited to put their curry offerings up against popular consumption, review, and judging. They will be invited from across the region and beyond, adhering to the £3.00 per portion mini offering, and of course with the objective of foodies trying each and every one. The vendors will also be joined by a 'Poppadom Preach' stall and 'Fresh Mango Lassi' station. As always, vendors will be announced as they go in order to maximise continued dribbling in the run up to the event.

So far, street food veterans ‘On The Goa’ and Newcastle’s finest 'Sachins' have been announced as confirmed vendors. The net has been cast far and wide to create a completely bespoke Indian Street Food experience. The stage will once again be set at the new found cook-off-colosseum - Wylam Brewery. Not only does it provide the best backdrop for this event, with its idyllic surroundings that are incredibly suited to Bonfire Night plans, but they also know their beer. We’re already excited to see the Indian street food offerings sat side-by-side with Wylam Brewery's India Pale Ales!

The event will (as always) be built upon a solid music agenda set by One20.

This event is FREE entry and is for all the family.

Dogs are welcome if well behaved.

We have anticipated a crisp winter night... However, in the eventuality of things being a little wet, the brewery's Great Hall will provide more than enough cover.
