Stop Crying Your Heart Out - Great British Tribute Fest is Back
Music fans can enjoy hits from some of the industry’s biggest stars, as a much-loved event returns to Tyneside this spring (May 2026).
Great British Tribute Fest will take over Newcastle’s Times Square on Friday 22 May with tickets now on sale (Wednesday 11 February at 10am).
And the festival-style, open air event – which promises “big British anthems and singalong moments” - is set to be the highlight of the May Bank Holiday weekend.
The 2026 line-up leans heavily into British indie and Britpop anthems, with tributes to Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Sam Fender, Gerry Cinnamon and Blur.
It also features artists such as Gerry Cinna-Mon Experience, who recently performed a sell-out gig at Newcastle City Hall.
The Great British Tribute Fest gives fans the chance to hear their favourite hits at a fraction of the price of concerts by the original artists.
And it has become one of the North East’s biggest tribute events over the last few years, with previous editions attracting huge crowds.
Mike Hesketh, co-director of organiser Evnt Inspirations, said: "After three amazing years of the festival - and with some great local festivals pausing or not going ahead - we felt the region deserves an affordable quality night of live music.
"Last year we sold more than 2000 tickets and have managed to hold the prices at the same as 2024 event, so it's a great event for all the family to come enjoy."
Pre-sale tickets have already gone on sale and Nick Chadford, marketing manager at Evnt Inspirations, said: “the response had been fantastic.
“Great British Tribute Fest has always been about celebrating the best British anthems in front of a big crowd, and this year really leans into that,” he said.
“It’s all the songs people know every word to, in a great city centre setting, on a Bank Holiday weekend, which is exactly how it should be.”
Great British Tribute Fest is a family event but not suitable for those aged five and under. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Earlybird tickets start from £15 plus booking fee and are available at https://www.greatbritishtributefest.co.uk
