Something in the Water Adds More Local Legends to its Line Up

Powerhouse vocalist Lorraine Crosby and Theatre Royal audience favourite Danny Adams are the latest names to be added to the stellar line up for Something in the Water, when it visits Newcastle Theatre Royal for two exclusive performances (Sun 18 May 2025).

Danny Adams is no stranger to the Theatre Royal stage, having been the star of its phenomenally popular pantomimes for the last two decades, celebrating his 20th festive season at Newcastle Theatre Royal later this year. Loved by audiences young and old for his slapstick comedy and contagious energy, Danny is guaranteed to cause chaos in the best possible way!

Lorraine Crosby, best known as the voice behind the global hit I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) with Meat Loaf, brings her electrifying stage presence and legendary vocals to the show. A proud North East native, Lorraine has captivated audiences around the world and is set to deliver a knockout performance at this celebration of local talent.

Something in the Water is presented by Joe McElderry and hosted by broadcaster Steph McGovern. This one-off celebration of the North East will feature music, comedy and performance from the North East’s biggest stars, powered by funk-soul performance group Groovetrain.

The show also features previously announced guests including podcaster and presenter Rosie Ramsey, singer Sonny Tennet and actress Jill Halfpenny.

Proceeds from the event will go to Newcastle Theatre Royal’s youth programme, TRY, and North East Music Opportunities (NEMO) CIC – helping young people across the region to access opportunities in music and the performing arts.

Family tickets and Under 16s concessions are available, as well as VIP meet and greet packages. Something in the Water plays Newcastle Theatre Royal for two performances on Sun 18 May 2025. Tickets can be purchased at www.theatreroyal.co.uk or from the Theatre Royal Box Office on 0191 232 7010.
