SHORTLIST IN MODEL SEARCH FOR FACE OF...NE1’S NEWCASTLE FASHION WEEK 2014

3 finalists have been shortlisted in thefirst ever model searchfor the Face Of...NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week, among them 2 models from Blyth. The 3 would-be models will take part in a photoshoot on Monday 3 March for their chance to be crowned Face Of...this year’s NE1’s NFW event which takes place in Newcastle from the 9 – 17 May 2014.

The 3 models were chosen from an open casting session that was held this week (w/c 24/2/14) and will now go on to take part in a photo shoot on Monday 3 March to determine who will be the winner and chosen as the face of the marketing and promotional campaign surrounding this year’s event.

The 3 student finalists are 18 year old Bethan Sproat from Blyth in Northumberland, a 2nd year college student, Vikki Bell, from Edinburgh, 21, studying at Newcastle University and 20 year old Lauren Marshall, also from Blyth who studies at Newcastle University and is currently in the final 50 of a modelling competition for international clothing brand, Hollister.

All 3 will take part in a campaign photo shoot on Monday 3 March between 2 – 4pm, when a team of hair and make-up artists working with a stylist will transform the models ready for the campaign photography.  The overall winner will be chosen by a judging panel including Sandra Tang, Marketing and Events Manager at NE1 Ltd and Alisia Murphy, Casting Director at Boho Models.

The models will wear garments from a collection designed by Northumbria University fashion design students for a design competition set by shoe brand, Dr Martens.

Commenting on the Face Of....search and the planning for this year’s NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week event, NE1’s Marketing and Events Manager, Sandra Tang said: “This is the first time we’ve hosted a model search for the Face of...NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week and we have been overwhelmed by the quality of the candidates who came forward.  Although it was difficult to whittle it down to 3, we now have an exceptionally strong field of models to choose from.  The winner will be chosen from the photo shoot and I can’t wait to see who is transformed into the Face Of our event.
