Santa’s House on Pilgrim Street Debuts in Newcastle – A Magical Christmas Experience Inside a 350-Year-Old Landmark
Santa’s House on Pilgrim Street has officially debuted in Newcastle, launching with an extremely busy opening weekend on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November. Presented by Niltoni Entertainment—the creative team behind the highly acclaimed Dickens by Candlelight – A Christmas Carol, now in its fourth sell-out year—the city’s newest festive family experience has already reached over 80% of tickets sold for its 2025 season.
Set inside the magnificent Alderman Fenwick’s House, built in 1670, the experience leads families through the historic hall and up the grand 350-year-old staircase to the stunning Great Room, where Santa awaits on his towering Victorian-style throne.
Throughout the visit, children become honorary elves, enjoy festive sing-alongs, cosy story time, pose for magical photos with Santa and receive a special gift, write their letters, and post them into his special North Pole post box. With beautifully dressed rooms, immersive storytelling, and an intimate atmosphere, it’s the closest thing to a traditional Christmas Santa experience this side of Lapland. And this Santa? He’s the real one.
Early visitor reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, with families taking to Instagram to share their excitement:
“We loved it, so cosy and festive – and the best Santa!” — @northeastmamlife
“Such a magical experience.” — @anderasblog
“This is definitely the real Santa!” — @this_scottish_life
Craig Wilde, Executive Producer at Niltoni Entertainment, said:
“We wanted to create a truly heartfelt Christmas experience rooted in Newcastle’s heritage. The response to our opening weekend has been unbelievable. Children walk in and instantly believe—and Alderman Fenwick’s House adds a level of magic you simply can’t create anywhere else.”
Santa’s House on Pilgrim Street runs every Saturday and Sunday morning until 21 December, with two special evening sessions on 15 and 22 December from 5:15pm for families seeking an extra-magical twilight visit.
