Radio Presenter Creates Magical Choir

Magic Radio presenter Anna Foster has recruited people from across the North East to join her in forming a seasonal Christmas choir. Anna, aged 41, is a classically trained soprano singer with a huge passion for singing. The breakfast show presenter, who rises at 4am every weekday, was prompted to create the choir after an impromptu sing a long, live on air, as she explained: “Earlier this year I was chatting with a caller to the show and we both broke into song; this made me think about forming a choir made up of listeners. “Music is a huge passion of mine and what better way to embrace that than to create a choir. I thought the ideal time to do this would be the lead up to Christmas so that’s what we’ve done and the response has been great. We’ve got about 70 people on-board, including Mark Deeks from the Inspiration Choir who will act as Musical Director and Conductor. “The weekly rehearsals we have been doing have been so inspiring. To see a group of strangers come together, have some real festive fun and form something so magical has been a real joy. “This is a great opportunity to get everyone in the community together and have some festive fun. All proceeds from the event will go to local children’s charity, cash For Kids.” The Sage Gateshead has offered the Northern Rock Foundation Hall for the final performance which will be take place on Wednesday 18th December. The choir will sing Christmas classics and some memorable songs from Magic’s playlist across two performances at 6pm and 8.15pm. A special appearance on the night will be made by pupils from Hadrian Primary School. All proceeds made from ticket sales will be go to Magic’s charity Cash for Kids.
