Pop Superstar Steps Up To Help North East Shopping Centre’s Campaign…

A LEADING member of a top pop group has stepped up to support a major fund raising event organised by the North East’s leading shopping centres.
Intu Eldon Square is currently running the Big intu Clothes Drop, asking shoppers to donate work wear which will be used by homeless charity Centrepoint to distribute to young people attending job interviews.
A range of North East celebrities have already got behind the appeal and provided items which will then be auctioned by Centrepoint, and now former Steps singer Faye Tozer has added her support.
Faye has donated an elegant Champagne coloured dress with a jewelled embellishment, which she wore on the red carpet at a glamorous UK's Creative Industries Reception held at London’s Royal Academy of Arts.
“This is a fantastic cause and I’m delighted to be able to help,” said Faye.
Faye’s donation will now be auctioned on eBay alongside two elegant dresses provided by Geordie songstress Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, plus a range of items provided by TV and radio presenters from across the region, to bring in additional funds for the charity.
The money raised will go directly to Centrepoint in the North East, which supports around 800 homeless people.
Members of the public are still able to support the fund raising efforts, by dropping items into giant Perspex clothes collection banks at intu Eldon Square outside Adidas on St Andrew’s Way (until 21 March), to coincide with the shopping centre's spring/summer fashion shows, in association with Hello! Fashion Monthly.
Fashion shows are running every two hours from 10am to 4pm at St Andrew’s Way (near Debenhams), intu Eldon Square on Friday 20 and Sat March 21.
