Phil Wang and David O’Doherty bring new stand-up shows to Newcastle in 2020

We’re thrilled to announce that both Phil Wang and David O’ Doherty will be bringing their newest comedy shows to the Tyne Theatre & Opera House in 2020.

Following a sell-out 2018 tour, and fresh from a 2019 Edinburgh Fringe run that sold out in advance, Phil Wang’s stand-up show Philly Philly Wang Wang, will be visiting the Tyne Theatre and Opera House on Thursday 19th March 2020.

Phil has made a name for himself exploring sex, romance, politics, and his mixed British-Malaysian heritage with shows that delight audiences. You may have caught Phil Wang on Taskmaster, Live at the Apollo or Netflix.

This tour will be exploring morality and the modern sense of self in the unique Phil Wang brand of smart and silly.

David O’ Doherty will all be bringing his brand new show, whoa is me, to the theatre on Friday 18th September 2020.

As seen on Channel 4’s ‘8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown’ and BBC’s ‘Live at the Apollo’, David O’ Doherty’s new show promises lots of talking, some apologizing and some songs on a glued together plastic keyboard from 1986.

Theatre Director Joanne Johnson has said “We’re so excited to add Phil Wang and David O’ Doherty to our comedy programme here at Tyne Theatre & Opera House. We pride ourselves on being one of the go-to venues in Newcastle for the very best stand-up acts – with both additions absolutely being two of the acts we can’t wait to see in 2020

Tickets are priced: Phil Wang - £15.50 (16+), David O’ Doherty - £20.50 (14+)
