NUSU Celebrates Outstanding Staff at the Teaching Excellence Awards

Exceptional teaching staff, lecturers and mentors at Newcastle University, who have gone above and beyond in student support, had their achievements celebrated last night at NUSU’s annual Teaching Excellence Awards (TEAs). The Awards, which take place every year at Newcastle University Students’ Union, recognises the many achievements of staff throughout the University who have provided outstanding support to students during their time at University. The ‘TEAs’, which opened nominations in November 2015, enables students to nominate any member of staff they believe have contributed to their academic life whilst at Newcastle. Winners were then announced at the award ceremony at the Students’ Union on Thursday 5th May, with many University staff, representatives and students in attendance. Matthew Price, NUSU Education Officer, said: “The quality of nominations we have had this year have been incredible – picking the winners was such a difficult task but presenting the winners with their trophies last night was an incredibly rewarding experience. “We’ve had great support from students from all over the world, from all of our campuses, and we can truly say that these Awards have been fully voted for by students.
