Newcastle United Legend and Entertainer Lee Clark to Host the Great Christmas Caper Quiz in the Grainger Market
The next Great Market Caper, in Newcastle’s Grainger Market on December 3rd, has taken another big step forward, this time receiving the seal of approval from Geordie royalty.
Lee Clark, United legend and key member of Kevin Keegan’s Entertainers, will host the inaugural Great Christmas Caper Quiz. Caperers will have their knowledge of North East facts and fiction, popular culture and heritage tested as they compete to prove they are THE experts in all things Newcastle. The winning team will receive a fantastic Christmas Hamper worth £100 provided by some of the Grainger Market’s top traders.
Lee said “I am really looking forward a great night at The Caper. I think it’s fantastic to see the Grainger Market being used to show off so much of the talent we have here in the North East. Hosting the Caper quiz will be a bit of light-hearted fun, but, with the bragging rights that come with victory, I’m sure there’ll be a fair bit of competition to win too.”
Lee wouldn’t be drawn on what questions might be included in the quiz, but organiser, Sean Bullick said the odd football fact might be a reasonable guess and suggested looking at the line-ups of previous Capers for other possible clues to questions. He went on to say, “We’re so pleased to have an actual Entertainer hosting the festive entertainment at the Caper. We really appreciate Lee’s involvement and his commitment to supporting The Caper and the city more widely: what more can we say, he really is a local legend!”
Beyond the quiz, Caper organisers are always looking to do things a little differently and that shows in the line-up for December 3rd, which includes as always great food, bars, music, and comedy, and promises all the eating, dancing, singing, and laughing you can manage on a night out.
