Newcastle Theatre Royal Prepare to Open Brand-New Pantomime Pinocchio!

Pinocchio, a brand-new production created especially for Newcastle Theatre Royal by Crossroads Pantomimes - the world’s biggest pantomime producer, will run for seven weeks from Tue 28 Nov 2023 – Sun 14 Jan 2024.

The show will see celebrated Theatre Royal panto star Danny Adams take centre stage as Pinocchio, along with Clive Webb as toymaker Geppetto and legendary panto dame Chris Hayward as Dame Rita. North East singer-songwriter Joe McElderry is also set to make a triumphant return to Newcastle Theatre Royal’s pantomime, this year as Jiminy Cricket.

Co-written, produced and directed by Newcastle’s own Michael Harrison, Pinocchio will mark Danny and Clive’s eighteenth panto appearance at Newcastle Theatre Royal.

Pinocchio will also see audience favourites Mick Potts, Wayne Smith, Kylie Ann Ford and Christina Berriman Dawson return, alongside West End performer Amelia Walker, who will make her Newcastle Theatre Royal panto debut.

Newcastle Theatre Royal pantomimes are widely thought to be amongst the best in the country - full of fun, laughter and surprises. Spectacular choreography, glittering sets, breathtaking special effects and a wonderful musical score form the backdrop to a tale full of adventure and hilarious slapstick. With brand-new sets and costumes, we'd by lying if we didn't think this wasn't going to be our best panto yet!
