Newcastle Pride Launches Community Fundraising Campaign to Support Delivery of This Year’s Festival

Newcastle Pride today announces a community fundraising campaign ahead of this years Newcastle Pride event in July, as organisers work to raise £10,000 to support the rising costs associated with the festival.

With only a few months to go, Curious Arts, the LGBTQIA+ arts, youth and heritage charity delivering Newcastle Pride for 2026, is launching the campaign following rising operational costs, reduced sponsorship income and changing national guidance around event safety and security, which have all contributed to a significant increase in delivery costs for many Pride events across the UK.

The fundraising drive seeks to ensure that this year’s Pride festival can continue to deliver a safe, accessible and high-quality event for the LGBTQIA+ community as planned, whilst ensuring artists, freelancers and community contributors are valued and paid.

As part of the campaign, Newcastle Pride is encouraging individuals, community groups and businesses to support the event in a variety of ways, including donations, workplace fundraising, sponsorship opportunities, workshops and talks alongside participation in the march itself, all to help raise the much needed £10,000 to fund this year’s celebrations.

Phil Douglas, CEO of Curious Arts said: “Festivals and community events across the country are being cancelled due to rising costs and we are working hard to ensure Newcastle Pride can continue as planned, providing a fantastic event where everyone can feel safe to be themselves whilst showing the world this city and region is welcoming and inclusive.”

Newcastle Pride weekend will take place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July 2026, bringing together live entertainment, community activities, performances, markets and the annual Pride march in Newcastle city centre.
