Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter to Host Women’s Networking Fundraiser at Wylam Brewery
Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter is bringing women together for an uplifting afternoon of connection, conversation and fundraising with the launch of Feels like Friday – Next Chapters, a new daytime event taking place at Wylam Brewery on Friday 15 May 2026.
Running from 10:30am to 4pm, the event will offer a relaxed and welcoming space for women to meet new people, catch up with friends and enjoy something a little different from traditional networking, all while supporting the dogs and cats cared for by the shelter.
Hosted by Miss Rory at Wylam Brewery, the fundraiser will begin with a welcome drink and food, giving guests the chance to settle in and ease into the afternoon in a relaxed setting. From there, attendees can enjoy a live panel discussion with shelter staff, shop local with a variety of independent businesses, and meet some of the shelter’s dogs. A high-energy silent disco will bring the afternoon to a close, with optional terrace drinks afterwards for anyone wanting to continue the conversation.
The event comes during a landmark year for Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter, which is marking 130 years of caring for animals across the North East. Founded in 1896, the charity continues to provide rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming for dogs and cats in need, relying on public support to keep its work going. In 2025 alone, the shelter rehomed 184 dogs and 293 cats.
Rachael Kendall, General Manager at Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter, said: “Feels like Friday – Next Chapters is all about bringing women together for an afternoon that feels relaxed, inspiring and genuinely enjoyable, while also raising vital funds for the animals in our care.
“As we celebrate 130 years of Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter, this event is a lovely way to connect with our community and invite people to support the work we do in a different way. Every ticket sold will help us continue providing care, safety and second chances for dogs and cats who need us.”
Tickets are priced at £45 per person or £450 for a table of 10.
Whether attending alone, with friends or as a business, guests can expect a warm atmosphere, plenty of opportunities to connect, and a memorable afternoon in support of a well-loved North East charity.
