New Blends at Bonbar

This week, Bonbar has launched its brand new drinks menu with some spectacular new cocktails on offer. Designed by bar manager Johny Hume, it takes inspiration from North East heritage and has a focus on creative execution.
Described as ‘A Display of the Old and an Introduction to the New’, the menu is a convergence of classic and contemporary perfect to indulge on whether you’re having an evening tipple after work or enjoying a special celebration over lunch, dinner or afterhours. It combines fresh ingredients to create award-winning drinks – here’s our top picks…
The Mystical Garden
In homage to the great Jesmond Dene landscape, this refreshing mix of Tanqeray Gin, St Germain elderflower liqueur, Chartreuse, mint, lime and cucumber comes served in a miniature mystical greenland.
Kung Fu Panda
An Asian inspired blend of Japanese Jinzu Gin, coconut water, aged sake, Ceylon Arrak, Creme de Cirise, and agave; sippable from a sitting panda with a bamboo straw.
Coal House Punch
A Great Brugal Rumble National Winner in 2013, this flavourful drink is inspired by the rich Northern coal mining industry. A copper tankard flows with Brugal 1888 Grand Reserva, Pimento Dram, ginger, Fentimans Curiosity Cola, Newcastle Brown Ale syrup & Boker bitters.
We’ve teamed up with Bonbar to offer one NE1 reader a round of four cocktails. To be in with a chance of winning, tell us what your favourite cocktail on the new menu is and why. Send your entry to [email protected]. Entries close on Friday 25 September*.
