NE1's Newcastle Restaurant Week is back!

NE1’S NEWCASTLE RESTAURANT WEEK – JANUARY 2013 – 21 – 27  JANUARY 2013

Back by popular demand and now a very firm fixture in Newcastle’s social calendar – NE1’s Restaurant Week 2013 will make a very welcome return from 21 – 27 January inclusive. 7 days of fine dining at some of the city’s finest restaurants and with a mega value price tag attached to the menu. The week is expected to attract record numbers of diners as year on year the event continues to increase in popularity. All the usual suspects are involved in the event. For the fifth year running, Terry Laybourne’s Café 21 group will be among the line up alongside Blackfriars, Babucho and a whole host of exciting new additions including Electric East and Sachins.  NE1 has been in talks with new restaurants across the city to encourage their involvement and participation and is confident that the week will provide diners with an unprecedented breadth and depth of venues to choose from. January’s Restaurant Week will offer dining deals for £10 and 15 per person, fantastic prices for those who have been tightening their belts after Christmas. 35 restaurants took part in last January’s Restaurant Week with well over 15,000 voucher downloads from the getintonewcastle website and NE1 is expecting the New Year event to be even more popular. Make sure you don’t miss out on the Restaurant Week action – register your details and receive updates from www.getintonewcastle.co.uk Sean Bullick, Chief Executive of NE1 Ltd explained: “It is great to work with Newcastle’s restaurant community to encourage greater numbers into the venues at a traditionally quite time of the year.  January by tradition is a hard month coming so soon after Christmas and New Year – but Restaurant Week encourages new customers to come and try new venues safe in the knowledge that their night out won’t break the bank.” When times are tough economically it is difficult to justify eating out – especially at some of Newcastle’s finest – but thankfully NE1’s Restaurant Week provides people with just the excuse they need and encourages new custom into restaurants. Andy Hook, Owner of Blackfriars Restaurant: “Newcastle has a fabulous and thriving restaurant scene with some of the best chefs and restaurant venues in the region.  Restaurant Week turns the spotlight on this community and gives us an excuse to shout about its successes and encourage as many people as possible to come and give our restaurant a try.” Robby Scott, MD at Babucho bar and restaurant commented: “ Restaurant Week 2013 will provide Babucho with a superb opportunity to thank our regular guests and friends, it is also a great occasion to meet and treat new faces.  Our policy for Restaurant Week has always been to show off, show off our food, show off our hospitality and our environment.  We love new and loyal faces enjoying the buzz at Babucho together.  I am convinced that friends we met in last January’s Restaurant Week kept our restaurant bustling all year.  We look forward to another fantastic Restaurant Week.”
