NE1's Lego Brick Tyne Bridge Sets Sold Out in Two Days!

NE1’s LEGO brick Tyne Bridge sets are one of this Christmas’ hottest ticket items.  Within 48 hours of them going on sale every set had been bought and pre-orders had been taken for another 30 that won’t arrive until long after Christmas. The phone lines went into overdrive when NE1 announced last week that it was selling 50 limited edition LEGO brick sets of the famous Tyne Bridge.  Callers jammed the lines to Upside Down Presents, the Newcastle-based exclusive stockist of the sets and within 48 hours all bar one set had been sold. There is still one remaining chance for UK buyers to secure the last remaining LEGO Tyne Bridge set and get their hands on the gift before Christmas. Set number 1, which has its own authentication certificate, has been reserved by NE1 Ltd and will be auctioned on Ebay with all proceeds going to charity.   http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/121835485041 The charity that will benefit from the LEGO brick Tyne Bridge sale is NE1’s own Space 2 initiative for young people in Newcastle city centre.  The set has a starting price of £295 and bidding will close on 18 December for a delivery within the UK before Christmas. An ideal Christmas gift, the LEGO brick model Tyne Bridge has over 3000 pieces and a 158-step guide to its construction.  The sets come equipped with all the bricks to build the bridge, the towers and a section of the River Tyne below together with vehicles and a cruise lining vessel that bears an uncanny resemblance to the old Tuxedo Princess floating nightclub that was moored on the Tyne for over 20 years. NE1 Ltd, the business champions of Newcastle city centre, have commissioned the exclusive first run of only 500 limited edition packs of the Mott, Hay and Anderson designed bridge.  Only 50 of the 500 sets were available before Christmas, the remaining sets will be delivered in the Spring. This year, 2015, marked the 90th anniversary of work starting on the Tyne Bridge’s construction, a project that took another 3 years to complete and the bridge officially opened in 1928.  NE1 Ltd was keen to mark the anniversary of the bridge’s construction and to create a lasting LEGO brick model celebration in homage to the original. The real Tyne Bridge is 26 metres above the river and measures 389 metres in length, the LEGO brick version has been produced to scale and when constructed measures 105 cm long and 42 cm high. The LEGO brick project has taken four months to design, commission and deliver, a fraction of the four year build time of the original and the NE1 team expects it to take a couple of days for enthusiasts to build the brick replica.  Depending on the success of the LEGO brick Tyne Bridge set, NE1 hopes to release further batches of the bridge together with other city landmarks in LEGO bricks in the future. Upside Down Presents, a gift shop on Dean Street/The Side in Newcastle is the exclusive stockist of the sets which retail for £295 and is taking pre-orders and deposits for the next release of the Tyne Bridge sets – anyone interested in securing a set for a Spring delivery should call 075 1234 9988 or buy online from http://61side.co.uk/tyne-bridge-model
