MILL VOLVO TAKES CENTRE STAGE!

Local businessman, Mill Volvo Managing Director Bill Ward, has once again stepped forward to support a local arts venue, this time it’s the iconic Newcastle Theatre Royal.
Mill Volvo is a leading player in the North East’s motoring scene but more recently the company has been attracting attention for its extra-curricular activities within the community. Their latest move sees them teaming up with the iconic Theatre Royal as they sign up to sponsor summer seasons at the theatre for two consecutive years, commencing in 2014 from April through to August.
The Grade I listed Theatre Royal is one of the most historic cultural landmarks in the country. Its status and reputation as one of the finest theatres in the UK ensures it is a key date in the touring calendar of some of the world’s leading theatre companies.
As an independent registered charity (No. 504473) operating not-for-profit; the Theatre Royal Trust keeps only a small percentage of the ticket price which contributes towards the running costs of the theatre. Over the past year, the theatre has been developing appealing sponsorship packages, such as that offered to Mill Volvo, to help maintain its on-going success.
Bill Ward, Mill Volvo’s Managing Director, said “With such strong local roots Mill Volvo understands the huge importance of giving something back and investing in the community. It’s fantastic to be associated with the Theatre Royal and to be able to contribute to the continued success of such an important cultural venue that is so iconic to the region. Also, it’s a good business decision as the sponsorship package offered by the Theatre Royal is excellent value for money.”
Chief Executive of the Theatre Royal, Philip Bernays, said “I am delighted to welcome Mill Volvo as sponsors of our summer seasons. We are extremely grateful for support offered to us from the local business community. Mill Volvo is a well-known and much respected company within the region and we’re glad to have them on board.”
In order to promote the sponsorship with the theatre, Mill Volvo will be parking a brand new Volvo V40 R-Design on the terrace outside the Theatre Royal Portico for the duration of the Blood Brothers show, which runs from 10 – 22 June. The Volvo V40 R-Design is new to the market and offers a combination of exclusive exterior and interior styling, optional sports chassis and responsive engines which create a sporty yet refined 5-door performance hatchback.
The Theatre Royal’s programme offers some of the world’s finest productions from theatre companies such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, Opera North and Rambert Dance Company, as well as West End musicals and a record breaking pantomime that is legendary in the North East. As a result it has developed a large, diverse and loyal customer base.
Similarly, Mill Volvo’s customer base is continually expanding as they thrive from dealerships in Newcastle, Sunderland, Stockton and Harrogate. For more information visit http://www.millnortheast.co.uk/ .
