Mappin & Webb launches 2017 campaign featuring actress Gabriella Wilde
Reid & Sons Newcastle has unveiled Mappin & Webb’s 2017 campaign images, featuring British actress and the first ever brand ambassador, Gabriella Wilde.
Gabriella embodies everything the quintessentially British brand stands for; sophistication, elegance and femininity. The new images highlight Gabriella’s natural and timeless beauty – a true reflection of the Mappin & Webb brand.
Amidst starring in the well-referenced BBC hit drama Poldark, Gabriella has formed a strong relationship with the British jewellers and has brought a fresh twist to the much sought after jewellery collections.
Gabriella exudes sophistication in jewellery from Mappin & Webb’s bespoke and truly unique ‘By Appointment’ bridal service, as well as high jewellery pieces from the iconic Floresco Collection, which showcase beautiful flora motifs taken from the brand’s extensive heritage and archive.
Mappin & Webb has been a cornerstone of English high society for 241 years, and has an undisputed reputation for excellence in the craftsmanship of silverware and fine jewellery.
Granted a Royal Warrant by Her Majesty Queen Victoria in 1897, the Company has held a Royal Warrant to each succeeding monarch and currently holds appointments as ‘Jewellers, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths’ to Her Majesty The Queen and 'Silversmiths' to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.
Renowned for combining extraordinary craftsmanship, exquisite materials and contemporary design, Mappin & Webb produces everything from fine jewellery and watches, to elegant silverware, glassware and bespoke lifestyle accessories.
In 2012, Mappin & Webb’s master craftsman was appointed Crown Jeweller, custodian of the Crown Jewels of Her Majesty The Queen, the greatest honour that can be bestowed upon a jeweller.
Meanwhile, Reid & Sons is one of the oldest businesses in Newcastle – established in 1778 by Christian Ker Reid, starting life in St. Nicholas’ Churchyard. It moved to the Groat Market and then to Grey Street in 1886, before finding its home on Blackett Street, where the store still stands today. The shop front dates from 1906 and is one of the only few remaining original frontages in Newcastle.
