Life Science Centre receives Excellence Award

The Life Science Centre in Newcastle has received a prestigious award from the world’s biggest travel website. The TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is presented to attractions and venues that consistently earn great reviews on the website, and reflects the high level of customer satisfaction that they deliver to visitors. In order to qualify for a Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five. The Life Science Centre has had a lot to celebrate recently. The end of May saw the launch of its new exhibition Game On 2.0, which offers the largest collection of playable computer games in the world, as well as the Centre’s fifteenth birthday. Linda Conlon, Life’s Chief Executive, said: “We are thrilled to have been recognised by TripAdvisor, and our customers, as worthy of this accolade. We aim to provide all visitors with a first class experience, and it is heartening to see that our efforts are being rewarded in this way.” For the past fifteen years, the team at Life has worked to engage visitors with science in a fun and interactive way, from the exciting blockbuster exhibitions to the popular outdoor ice rink. Over five million visitors have enjoyed demystifying science with the help of Life’s Science Explainers, and the ever-popular Lifelab has provided educational opportunities to school children from across the country, delivering more than 40,000 educational experiences to students every year. Recent TripAdvisor reviews reflect the high level of public regard for the Centre. Regular visitor Jill Clough said: ‘There's always something fresh and interesting [at Life Science Centre] to make all generations want to find out more.’ The praise continues in a similar fashion for new exhibition Game On 2.0, with one reviewer describing it as: ‘The best afternoon I've had in ages. THIS IS A MUST DO.’
