Kocktail’s Vintage Van to Make Debut Outing at Newcastle’s ‘Coronation Concert’

Award-winning Newcastle based cocktail company, Kocktail, is delighted to announce they are the official cocktail partner for this weekend's ‘Coronation Concert’ at Times Square.

Following the success of Kocktail’s limited-edition ‘Crown Martini’ launch to celebrate His Majesty King Charless III Coronation this May; the team is looking forward to serving up drinks in style – with a debut outing for Kocktail’s vintage van.

Free to attend and with no pre-booking required, residents will be able to watch the Coronation Concert taking place at Windsor Castle for free in Times Square, from 8pm on Sunday 7th May. Katy Perry, Take That and Lionel Richie are among the acts performing at the concert, alongside a 74-piece orchestra.

Kocktail will be shaking up a selection of delicious cocktails, with a menu of drinks available including their award-winning Espresso Martini and latest launches, Passionfruit Martini and Amaretto Sour. The team will also be serving drinks during the screening of the Coronation ceremony, on Saturday 6th May.

Co-founder at Kocktail, Andrew Hutchinson said: - “We’re delighted to be the official cocktail partner for Newcastle City Council’s Coronation Concert, helping concert goers celebrate with delicious bar-quality cocktails, fit for a King! Our newly upcycled vintage ice cream van – now Kocktail van – will be making its debut and we can’t think of a better place for it, given it's for such a historic occasion and iconic part of the city.”

From street parties to community gatherings, landmarks across the UK will be illuminated red, white and blue to make the momentous event - including the Civic Centre and Tyne Bridge.

Ahead of the Bank Holiday, Kocktail has shared their guide to the perfect Coronation weekend and how to celebrate in style at home.

Kocktail’s top tips for the perfect Coronation party

  • Hang up the bunting, pull out your finest china, and enjoy a cup of tea whilst watching the historic events unfold. Some British tableware we love and would recommend include Marram's Royal red, white and blue bunting and Originals London place name cards.
  • Whatever the weather or setting, we’re sure to be sharing a few bottles of our Limited Edition Crown Martini with those nearest and dearest to us. Made using the incredible Hepple Gin and inspired by flavours from across the British Isles including rhubarb, cucumber, rose and elderflower - it’s a cocktail worthy of such an occasion. King Charles himself even planted a juniper bush at the Hepple Estate back in 2018 - making it the perfect tipple to celebrate his Coronation this weekend.
  • Get your guests involved and ask them to bring their favourite Great British dish or drink and enjoy the celebrations in the company of your friends and family, alongside a selection of tasty sponge cakes, sausage rolls and scones!
