Home Alone Live in Concert with Royal Northern Sinfonia

It may still be August and at NE1 we don't like to talk about it too early...but fans of cult classic Home Alone will want to get booked up early and add this must-see Christmas event to their Newcastle Christmas calendar!

On Sunday 3 December, our friends at Sage Gateshead are giving filmgoers the chance to experience Home Alone like never before. Taking place in the world-class acoustics of Sage One, the classic film will be screened for all to enjoy – accompanied live by Royal Northern Sinfonia!

A festive favourite in many households, the 1990 Christmas comedy stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, an 8-year-old boy who must protect his house from a pair of burglars – the Wet Bandits – when he is accidentally left home alone by his family.

Bringing the film to life, Royal Northern Sinfonia will perform John Williams’ Academy-Award-nominated score in its entirety, including Christmas classics Carol of the Bells and O Holy Night as well as the main title Somewhere in my Memory.

Tickets range from £16.50 - £39.50 with performances at 3pm and 7.30pm. To book, visit classicalseason.com or call Ticket Office on 0191 443 4661.

Later on in December, the ever-popular screenings of The Snowman are back (22-24 Dec), with Royal Northern Sinfonia playing Howard Blake’s magical score live. For those new to this kind of musical experience or wanting to try something different, there are many more concerts throughout the year to look forward to, including RNS’ Halloween horror-music special (28 Oct), the music of Star Wars (23 & 24 Nov), a celebration of Gershwin and Bernstein (4 Feb) and all things Broadway (10 Mar).
