Head to Sage Gateshead for a Valentine’s gift that ticks all the boxes...

Chocolates are tasty but they’re easily demolished, and flowers are always nice, but... they wilt. With Valentine’s Day less than a month away, Sage Gateshead has something a little different on offer for treating that special person...
If Music be the food of love...features the most romantic and lush orchestral music performed by the best orchestra in the North East, Royal Northern Sinfonia, alongside top singers (who just happen to be newly-wed lovebirds) soprano Susanna Hurrell and tenor Ben Johnson. Swoon to the enchanting love arias from Puccini’s La Bohème and Bizet’s Carmen, and for any Han and Leia’s, the orchestra perform John Wiliams’ Love Theme from Star Wars. Excerpts from Prokofiev’s ballet of doomed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, appears alongside the overture from George Gershwin’s Girl Crazy –the musical that turned Ginger Rogers into an overnight star.
But why not make a night of it, and treat you and your loved one to something a bit tasty before the music kicks off? Our kitchens will be knocking up a gastronomic three course meal, including Warm Walnut & Northumberland Blue Cheese Tart with Honeyed Figs & Sherry Vinaigrette, followed by a Slow Braised Feather Blade of Beef with Rosti Potatoes, Roasted Root Winter Vegetables, all drizzled in Wylam Ale Gravy for mains (Wild Mushroom Wellington available for vegetarians). And to top that off, a naughty Petit Pot au Chocolat served with Kirsch Soaked Cherries & Rosemary Scented Biscotti. For just £25.00 per person, you will also be treated to a glass of prosecco on arrival. Not hungry? There’s still a VIP option, which for a mere tenner a head gets a glass of prosecco and tasty bites on arrival and during the interval, all in our VIP area.
A perfect treat for any belle or beau this Valentine’s day.
