Free Flowing Cocktail Afternoon Tea: Mother Mercy Partners with Fenwick to Launch Exclusive 'cocktails and Cake' Afternoon Tea

Mother Mercy at Fenwick Newcastle, has announced its latest innovative series of cocktail offerings with the launch of 'Cocktails & Cake Afternoon Tea,' located on Fenwick's lower ground floor. Cocktails & Cake—inspired by tea and punch, pays homage to the delicate presentation and delectable taste of the cakes and pastries provided by the renowned Mason + Rye by Fenwick, accompanied by free-flowing cocktails from Mother Mercy, served in teapots to bring a contemporary twist to traditional afternoon tea.

Cocktails & Cake presents a creative twist on traditional afternoon tea, with the menu being centred around tipsy tea and treats at Mother Mercy in Fenwick Newcastle. Priced at £50 for two to share with each sitting being 90 minutes, the experience makes for an ingredient-perfect, cocktail-drenched option ideal for accompanying a day of shopping.

The menu, carefully crafted by Mother Mercy's award-winning mixologists and Mason + Rye's Pastry Chefs, comprises decadent treats and premium cocktails that wink at the theme of tea and punch. Think pink—with Candy Floss Macarons and Red Velvet Cupcakes, accompanied by free-flowing teapots of cocktails and prosecco to create an unforgettable afternoon tea including:

Pavlova Punch: Hendricks gin, Chamberyzette, vanilla, fresh lemon, winter berries, toasted almond, whey milk

Afternoon Tea Punch: Hepple gin, elderflower, fresh lemon, strawberry, jasmine tea

Roasted Pineapple Punch: (non-alcoholic available Lyres Dark Cane Spiced Rum) Havana Club 3yr rum, golden falernum, pineapple, fresh lime, Angostura, black tea

The cakes include two of each of the following from Fenwick's delectable patisserie:

Candy Floss Macaron: Traditional almond & meringue-based French macaron, with a filing of candy floss flavoured crémeux

Winter Berry Mousse: A winter berry compote, encased in a white chocolate & vanilla bavarois. Coated with a sweet glaze and topped with white chocolate flower.

Hazelnut, Chocolate & Salted Caramel Finger: Layers of light hazelnut sponge with Madagascan vanilla, sandwiched between salted caramel sauce. Coated in a glaze with nibbed hazelnuts and topped with a chocolate mousse.

Red Velvet Cupcake: Crimson sponge, filled with strawberry jam, topped with ermine buttercream with decorative edible pearls.

Note: Mother Mercy is currently unable to accommodate for dietary requirements.

Between 15th - 19th February, Mother Mercy is offering a special launch promotion for two to share Cocktails and Cake for £40, which can be booked online. In addition to the experience, Mother Mercy also offers Cocktails and Cake gift vouchers, which can be ordered through the Mother Mercy website (perfect for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day).
