Flight Club is giving out hundreds of prizes on Newcastle’s streets on 16 October

Flight Club, the Social Darts bar, is on tour, and stopping off in Newcastle along the way.

Throughout October, Flight Club is touring the country in a fire engine (more on that later!), visiting its venues nationwide to celebrate Flight Club’s 10th birthday and to raise money for its charity – the Yellow Ball Foundation.

Newcastle is set to be Flight Club’s newest home as it opens the doors to its Eldon Square venue on 7th November.

The Flight Club crew will stop off in Newcastle on 16th October, when they will park up the fire engine and spend the day dishing out goodies to passers-by on Eldon Square and the surrounding area. Locals should come along to join in the birthday celebrations and get their hands on some freebies.

Expect loads of Flight Club merch to be up for grabs, as well as free brunch tickets, pizza and drinks vouchers, bar tabs and more.

WIN tickets to the exclusive Flight Club Newcastle Launch Party

In addition to the great giveaway this Thursday, Flight Club has announced that it will give 25 people and their friends the chance to attend the exclusive launch party of the brand-new venue on 6th November, the day before the big opening to the public.

The lucky 25 will get to bring along three guests to the party for a sneak peek before the venue opens to the public, and celebrate the grand opening in true Flight Club style. Those keen to get their hands on the golden tickets should keep an eye on Flight Club's Instagram page this week for details on how to enter.

Some background on why Flight Club is touring the country in a fire engine

The Flight Club team is no stranger to mammoth fundraising projects. In fact, a 2010 fundraising expedition around the globe in a fire engine (hence the fire engine connection) is where it all began for Flight Club.

Co-founders Steve and Paul, CFO Ross and a crew of friends circumnavigated the planet in a fire engine in memory of Steve's father, who spent 33 years serving as a firefighter. They raised £120,000 for three charities (Macmillan Cancer Support, The Fire Fighters Charity and The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation) and achieved a Guinness World Record.

The expedition taught Steve and the crew the skills they needed to launch a business and, more importantly, underlined their passion for bringing groups of friends together for unforgettable moments of joy. Five years later, Flight Club was born, with the first venue opening in London’s Shoreditch. Fast-forward ten years, and there are now 24 venues around the globe, with plenty more on the way.

Fifteen years after Steve and the gang headed off on an incredible adventure around the world, “Martha,” the original fire engine, is coming out of retirement, especially for this special 10th anniversary tour.
