A Fang-Tastic Halloween Awaits at Eldon Square
Eldon Square, Newcastle’s premier shopping and leisure destination, is inviting visitors to get into the Halloween spirit with the return of the Eldon Scare Trail, a fang-tastic day of spooky surprises.
Taking place on Saturday 31st October, Eldon Square will come alive with Halloween fun, inviting little ghosts, witches, wizards and their grown-ups to embark on an adventure through the centre.
Running from 9am–3pm, the action kicks off at the Community Quarter, where children will receive a trail sheet and set off on a mission to uncover 12 hidden vinyls scattered throughout the centre. Once all are found, they'll reveal a mystery word.
After completing the trail, participants can return to the Community Quarter to hand their sheets to a pair of friendly witches in exchange for a Halloween goody bag full of sweet treats and an official Eldon Scare Certificate of Completion. And for some lucky participants, the treats don’t stop there! Hidden within a limited number of goody bags will be an Eldon Square Gift Card worth between £10 and £50.
Tickets for the Eldon Scare Trail are £3 per child (plus booking fee), with every £3 going directly to Tyneside & Northumberland Mind, a charity dedicated to helping support mental health services across the local community.
Included within the ticket price, Eldon Square is hosting free Halloween face painting, transforming little ones into their favourite spooky characters, alongside roaming appearances from Beaste the monster, Esme the witch, the Pumpkin Heads and Halloween stilt walkers. The characters will be popping up throughout the day from 9.30am until 3pm, with 20–30-minute appearances giving plenty of opportunities to spot your favourite characters, say hello and capture some frightfully fun photographs. With plenty going on throughout the day, there’s something to keep everyone entertained.
Halloween shoppers will also have another reason to head to Eldon Square this October, as the Horror Store will once again take up residence. The pop-up is now open Monday to Saturday, offering everything from costumes and masks to accessories and spooky home décor.
Helen Cowie, Centre Director at Eldon Square, commented: “We’re looking forward to bringing some Halloween fun to Eldon Square and welcoming visitors to this year’s Scare Trail. It’s a chance to enjoy a great day out together while supporting Tyneside & Northumberland Mind, making the event even more meaningful. We can’t wait to see families getting into the Halloween spirit!”
