Fairground Venue Launches ‘World Duck’ Takeover Across Newcastle

As the World Cup approaches, the North East’s first fairground games experience, Fayre Play, is taking to the streets, launching their ‘World Duck’ campaign.

Fayre Play’s roaming referees are hitting busy city centre locations armed with whistles, red cards and one mission — rescuing passers-by from ‘a predictable night out’.

Members of the public stopped by the referees and shown a ‘Red Card’ will receive free game tickets for Fayre Play, along with the chance to win one of the brand’s iconic giant yellow plushie ducks.

The activation plays on classic football referee culture, giving city-goers a ‘foul’ for enduring long queues, overcrowded sports bars and repetitive nights out.

Craig Neilson, Fayre Play Co-Founder said; “We wanted to create something fun, playful and impossible to ignore. Our ‘World Duck’ is all about reminding people that socialising should actually be fun. If you’ve been stuck in queues all night, our referees are here to give you the red card and send you somewhere better. Fayre Play has become known for blending nostalgic fairground games with modern competitive socialising, with sweet-topped cocktails, street food and iconic yellow ducks.
