We know how much everyone loves a good party so intu Eldon Square are inviting you to a weekend of fun and entertainment on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June. Don’t rely on the British Summer, they’ll be bringing the sunshine inside for a whole weekend. They're putting on quite the feast of summer entertainment and the best part is: Everyone's Invited! Saturday 27th June Special guest and local hero DJ John, as seen on Britain's Got Talent, will be kicking off the weekend's festivities, working his magic to get the crowd in the party atmosphere. Talented dancers from Swan Kenney Theatreworks will then be gracing the stage, bringing to life a host of energetic dance routines, including a tribute to the North East's favourite girl band, Little Mix. Break-dancers Bad Taste Cru are the next act on the stage, displaying their incredible balance and skill as they attempt to wow you with one of their amazing sets. There's plenty of fun for children too, with craft activities taking place near adidas. We know your children are all little stars, so they’ll be able to pay a visit to make a beautiful star for their very own dressing rooms. The talent just keeps on coming throughout Saturday afternoon, as singer-songwriter and local favourite Annabel Pattinson covers a host of popular tracks as well as some of her very own songs. Jessie Live, tribute act to Jessie J, will also be gracing the stage, keeping you entertained with her fabulous vocals as she takes on a host of hits. Another local talent, singer Jake Houlsby is the next act on stage, belting out some modern classics. The first day's entertainment will be rounded off by the Newcastle Musical Theatre Company, who'll be treating you to a sneak preview of their production of Sister Act, with the full show airing at The Newcastle Theatre Royal in July. Sunday 28th June Their children's arts and crafts workshop will return near adidas on the Sunday, offering kids the chance to create some different fun props. To celebrate the fantastic new children's facilities inEldon Leisure, monkey mascot Jungle Jack will be monkeying around throughout the day and meeting your little ones. Kids will also be able to make their very own monkey tail or monkey mask. After all that hard work, why not take a seat and treat yourself to a few cheeky samples from a host of retailers, including wagamama, Costa Coffee and Boost Juice Bar. Caricaturist Paul Slattery will be on hand to turn you and your friends in to a funky cartoon, which you can take away with you. Also, keep an eye out for their giant stilt walkers, who'll be parading through the centre, towering over us mere mortals. Back on the stage, they're giving you the chance to be a part of the show too and have your moment in the #intuSpotlight. Send us a video clip of you performing your talent and you could also get your hands on a £100intu Gift Card. The lucky acts will be following singer James Cairns, who'll be using his sultry tones to cover some family favourites.
