Eleanor May Blackburn’s Darkly Comic 4* Hit Edinburgh Fringe Show: A Sudden, Disturbing To Do List, Goes Country Wide
Eleanor May Blackburn has sold out Sheffield Theatres, received 4&5* reviews for her last solo shows, performed runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and now she’s back with a 6 venue strong tour consisting of: The Old Joint Stock- Birmingham, 53two- Manchester, Theatre@41- York, Theatre Deli- London, Alphabetti- Newcastle and The Macready Theatre- Rugby.
1. A Sudden, Disturbing To Do List is a show mostly revolving around lists... but also tackles themes of 2. toxic work ethic, 3. OCD and 4. learning to come to terms with who you are. 5. This is a show for anyone who’s ever put ‘shower’ on their to do list.
Meet Phoebe: a journalist and the queen of lists. On her fridge, her mirror, all over her hands and...everywhere. One day a pink, fluffy monster appears under her duvet. Why then is she suddenly listing all the ways she might die?
Speaking on the show, Eleanor says “It’s certainly a show for those who write something on a to do list simply for the satisfaction of getting to tick it off immediately. After the initial success of the fringe I’ve extended it into a 60 minute show and done lots of edits- it’s back and better than ever!”
Eleanor May Blackburn is a disabled, neurodivergent, queer, working-class actor/writer/poet/theatre-maker from Sheffield. Eleanor is a writer of the Sheffield Theatres Bank Cohort 2023 and toured her first two solo shows Subdural Hematoma and Does My Fanny Look Big in This? Up and down the country after premiering at the Edinburgh Fringe.
“I’m writing this for all the neurodivergent list makers out there- you are NORMAL, but omg does it feel like there’s a little list monster sleeping in your bed sometimes.”
